BIO

I was born and raised in Ottawa, ON, and graduated with an undergraduate degree in Commerce from Carleton University. I obtained my Chartered Accountant designation (now known as a CPA), and have worked in private industry for many years. 

 

I quickly realized that being an accountant wasn't for me, and moved into broader business leadership roles.  Soon, I reached the C-level ranks and got involved in many early-stage start-ups in the tech sector.  I also became an entrepreneur along the way.  A bit of a departure from being a finance person, but then again I was never the poster child for the CA/CPA profession.

While writing was never part of my formal duties in any role, I would step up and write when needed.  Either for the companies I was involved with, or the non-profit organizations I helped out with.  

​

I enjoyed it, and people began commenting regularly on the quality of my written product.  I would politely accept the compliment and think nothing more of it, other than I'm glad the job got done well.  

​

The 2020-21 COVID pandemic severely reduced the amount of travel I was doing, and I found myself with a fair amount of extra time.  I've used some of that time to teach myself how to play guitar...something that was decades overdue.  And, I started writing.  

​

So, here we are.  Samples of my work are posted in the Blog section. Samples of other forms of writing are available upon request.
